Provide HR Case Management services to the business, supporting a broad range of client groups and delivering proactive interventions across the organisation. Support a range of HR projects, contributing to the development and implementation of people plans, policies and processes, against a backdrop of HR and business transformation

Key Accountabilities

  • Deliver high quality, timely and effective HR Case Management advice, guidance and support to people leaders, HR colleagues and other key stakeholders
  • Develop line managers, adopting a coaching style, enabling and driving great people leadership in the business
  • Determine and deliver proactive interventions to address trends and issues identified through Case Management
  • Proactively support the planning and implementation of projects, working under broad direction, with some degree of autonomy
  • Support colleagues in the HR function, to identify opportunities for improvement, develop policy, plan for and manage business change
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality and be a great team player


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide sound advice and guidance on a broad range of HR cases, including discipline, grievance, performance, capability, sickness and dispute resolution
  • Deliver pragmatic solutions, taking swift action; interpreting and maintaining commercial focus; gauging 'equitable' and balanced approaches to every situation
  • Prepare cases thoroughly; maintaining complete and accurate documentation; a record of actions; status reporting; reviewing; learning and implementing improvements
  • Interpret Company policy, alongside external best practice, to deliver sensible solutions, robust case management and appropriate assessment of business risk
  • Contribute to and support a variety of business and HR projects
  • Support the implementation of appropriate change management activities to drive business and HR improvements
  • Consult effectively with relevant stakeholders on the development of HR policy and practices
  • Conduct analysis of HR data and workforce analytics; benchmarking research and reviews; in order to provide decision support materials, identify issues and opportunities
  • Deal with escalated issues from within HR Operations, Centres of Expertise and other HR colleagues and ensure their timely resolution
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships, in particular working with colleagues in HR Operations, Heads of HR and Centres of Expertise, to ensure seamless delivery of services to the business and effective communication about the status and resolution of cases
  • Responsible for undertaking other duties as reasonably required from time to time by line and task management


Skills

  • Strong coaching skills and ability to inspire others
  • Strong facilitation and mediation skills
  • Sound report writing skills, able to formulate clear and accurate case documentation
  • Strong analytical skills, with a basic understanding of the use of human capital metrics
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Consultancy skills and understanding of the consulting lifecycle (Preferred)


Essential Experience

  • Strong HR case management experience, covering a wide variety of casework, up to and including dismissals
  • Experience of working in a unionised environment


Desirable Experience

  • Employment tribunal experience
  • Generalist HR experience, including HR policy development and employee relations
  • Project management experience, ideally gained in an HR environment


Regulatory Requirements

  • Up to date knowledge of employment legislation, relevant regulations and policy
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (Preferred)
  • Good standard of general education, with proven literacy and numeracy
  • CIPD qualified (Preferred)

Further Requirement

  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role
