An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Team Leader to join my client within Application Support.

You will be the owner of the Application Problem Management (APM) process, responsible for leading and providing high quality operational and technical application and systems support to internal business functions.

A 'hands on' team leader position, your primary responsibility is to be the main point of contact for the Microsoft Azure Enterprise Service Bus (ESB). You will proactively monitor the ESB Dashboard to identify failures that need investigating.

Job Responsibilities

*Lead and prioritise the 2nd Line Application Support team's work load.
*Be the Subject Matter Expert and Point of Contact for the MS Azure ESB.
*Assign/Reassign incident tickets as and when required, including to own queue.
*Manage own workload and incident ticket queue.
*Manage and own the APM process.
*Develop, co-ordinate and promote the effective functioning of application problem management activities.
*Contribute to the planning of application/infrastructure releases and configuration changes.
*To examine potential areas for Service Improvement and raise proposals with the Service Delivery Manager / Head of Service Operations.
*Provide technical leadership.
*Interact with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to trouble shoot and resolve complex problems.
*Provide input to administering and maintaining all production and internal environments within our MS Azure Cloud.
*Provide input to the implementation, backup and roll-back plans.
*Act as a technical resource for internal and external projects.
*Ensure there are robust procedures and processes within the application support function remit
*Maintain good working relationships with internal departments as well as 3rd party vendors and hosting providers.
*Share / spread knowledge with team members as well as internal teams (e.g. business users, 1st Line - IT Service Desk, 3rd party vendors).
*Coach and develop team members.
*Ensure all technical and non-technical documentation is up-to-date.

Essential Skills

*Currently hold the ITIL Problem Management Certification.
*Knowledge of;
*MS SQL Server 2008-2016.
*MS Azure Cloud Services.
*Integration Layer Technology e.g. MS Azure ESB, BizTalk, Logic Apps etc.
*Experience leading technical application support teams.
*3+ years' experience in an hands-on application support lead/manager role.
*Extensive problem solving and debugging skills.
*Ability to support production upgrades and support the products and technologies.
*Experience in providing services to agreed SLA's and OLA's.
*Experienced in Problem and Incident Management.
*Recording and solving application support issues from users or via proactive monitoring methods, prioritising requests, implementing and communicating timely solutions.
*Trouble-shooting and undertaking detailed root-cause analysis.
*Managing L3 issues assigned to the software vendor for resolution.
*Analytical and problem solving mind set.
*Ability to work with business stakeholders and software vendors to resolve issues.
*Excellent communication skills with a customer focus.
*Excellent leadership skills.
