Our leading client is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Solution Architect , ideally CTC cleared but would consider SC Cleared individuals to assist in a long-term programme of work whilst they are undergoing a significant period of transformation and growth. 

In the role of Infrastructure Solutions Architect, you will be part of the team delivering a Future State solution for a change.

The Role


  • Clarify requirements, ensuring traceability of solution to requirements
  • Attend appropriate workshops
  • Create the Future Mode of Operations (FMO)
  • Create and maintain the high level design (Logical Technology Model)
  • Support the Technical Architect to create the Physical Technology Model (detailed design) ensuring continuity
  • Undertake options analysis where if request to articulate the options and the recommendation
  • Ensure that solutions are designed and fully documented for supportability and sustainability
  • Liaise with Security to ensure the solution is designed and implemented with security considerations in mind from the start
  • Works with peers to maintain direction and communicating the impact of solution design options
  • Works with project teams and fellow architects to design end to end architectural solutions
  • Represents the Architecture Community, interface with and participate in project, stakeholder updates
  • Adheres and participates in on account Architecture Assurance / Solution Governance, Project Governance, change management, quality gates and design review processes as required
  • Submit and lead Design Decisions (including standards/principles exemptions and options analysis) through the Solution Steering Boards (SSB)
  • Input to planning activities with the Project Manager

The Person

Technical Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Holistic / Generalist but from an infrastructure (rather than development) background who is used to designing Hosting solutions and End User Services solutions.
  • Hosting related skills

           - Workloads (predominantly X86)

           - Platform as a Service

           - Infrastructure as a Service (physical & virtual compute, Backup & Storage)

           - Systems Management

  •  End User Services skills:

           - End User Services

           - Email and collaboration

           - End User devices (tablets / thin clients / desktops / laptops)

           - Access and Identity

  • Expert communication skills and written skills
  • Strong problem solving  / analytical skills
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant technical
  • Good knowledge of quality standards, legislation and best practice
  • Ability to be adapt and prioritise
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems, issues and solution
  • Self Starter
  • Perseverance
