The tasks the project officer will need to undertake include:

  • Reviewing the criteria for EHC needs assessment
  • Reviewing the criteria for top up funding
  • Reviewing the EHC banding document
  • Reviewing the terms of reference and documentation for SEND panels
  • Reviewing EHC documents - EHC plans, reviews, request for assessments, advice forms, transition plan
  • Developing guidance and examples of good practice (EHC plans, advice forms etc. ) for schools and other professionals
  • Undertake Quality assurance of plans

These tasks will need to be undertaken in partnership with schools and settings, other professionals and families.

The successful candidate will need to have:

  • Significant experience of SEN assessment, planning and review processes and procedures, ( ideally having been employed as a Senior SEN casework officer or manager of an SEN assessment, planning and review service)
  • Knowledge of part 3 of the Children and Families Act 2014 , the SEND reforms
  • Experience of working in partnership with schools, settings, parents and young people
