Currently seeking a skilled IT Network Engineer and Security Officer to provide voice & data network design, support and management of global infrastructure and to lead the IT security activities across the organisation acting as the point of contact for all IT security activities.
The role will involve being the technical expert for network architectures involving a sound understanding of cyber security.

Primary purposes of the role:
Provide network / communication systems monitoring, support and management for the global business.
Lead in resolving IT (voice & data) networking and security issues, deploying new services and equipment as requested and authorised. Administer the global voice and data infrastructure and system services as required.
As an active member of the global helpdesk team, support the client base, engaging and actively contributing to ensuring customers have the capabilities to undertake their duties.
Co-ordinate and lead IT security initiatives for ensuring compliance with the relevant government and corporate frameworks.
Work jointly with the UK Security Officer to ensure IT infrastructures and services meets CESG / DSAS requirements where appropriate.
The applicant must be able to deliver the majority of the requirements listed below which will be prioritised by business drivers:
Lead, design, implement, support and manage network solutions for both voice and data, where appropriate.
Lead, design, implement and support a relevant IT security framework in collaboration with the UK Security Officer, CSOC, InfoSec and other NG functions, where appropriate.
Work as team player within the IT global helpdesk providing telephone and direct support to staff and, where requested and agreed, participate in out-of-hours support, maintenance and upgrade activities.
Train IT staff in the administration, monitoring and support of appropriate security solutions.
Ensure IT security solutions are appropriately monitored and up-to-date.
Undertake monitoring of relevant systems in accordance with authorised schedules. Record, remedy or escalate faults where appropriate.
Provide first and second line support (correct and repair) for the following:
Local and wide area network equipment
Telephony and VoIP, mobile, Blackberry, Windows Mobile (AirWatch) and land line
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 onwards
Windows Active Directory administration and backups
Outlook Email and Exchange Server
PC Hardware and Windows operating systems (XP onwards)
Deployment and configuration of new PCs and applications in accordance with agreed IT standards
Microsoft Office applications
Printing and related issues
Development and maintenance of IT department documentation and databases to meet relevant ISO and NGC requirements
To be aware of and comply with company standards of conduct and all relevant statutory requirements
To carry out any other reasonable management request
Work as part of a global team delivering IT and business change.
Be able to travel to any of the worldwide sites, if required.
Undertake any other reasonable management requests

Technical/Job Specific Skills:
Must be a UK citizen and be eligible to gain SC / DV level of clearance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field. Equivalent education or experience will be considered.
Recent and significant experience of:
Broad knowledge of Information Security practices.
Telecoms and network systems in a LAN and WAN environment
Cisco security, networking and comms systems.
Firewalls and edge security including Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Sophos and Websense.
Network security and penetration testing.
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 onwards.
Microsoft Windows OS XP onwards.
Microsoft Office 2010 onwards.
Microsoft Exchange and Outlook 2010 onwards.
Centralised, automated patch and application installations.
Service desk call logging system experience.
Windows print servers, printers and peripherals.
Windows Active Directory and Outlook / Exchange / BES / AirWatch administration.
User training as and when needed.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong self-management skills.
Good writing and communication skills.
Preferable but not mandatory:
Experience in the analysis of network communication protocols at all layers of the OSI model.
Cisco CCNE (Cisco Certified Network Engineer for which training will be provided).
IT Training to MCSE qualification.
Oracle / SQL Server Database Administration.
