Key responsibilities:

The Capability Modeller is to work with the Business Transformation Consultant and Lead to support the development of new business processes that ultimately support the Authorities aim of moving to an outcome based service model in line with the ISS Strategy. The role includes mapping the business and operational processes to understand the current support environment in terms of costs and performance and modelling alternatives in line with the ISS strategy to ascertain alternatives to inform the Authority Business Case for Change.

  • In consultation with the Army stakeholders capture a model of the current ‘Bowman’ operating environment, including data and information relating to the reliability, key customer pains and known cost drivers
  • Work with senior managers and the customer to develop the building blocks of a customer vision for supporting the project capability. Noting that a whole system approach is necessary to capture financial and service benefits when transitioning to an outcome based service model
  • Working closely with the customer, engage and define scenarios and agree test cases, evaluate performance, modify and review lessons learned and develop a draft business case, optimise performance model and re run scenarios
  • Work with the Programme team to implement data management requirements into the operating model to support future procurement activities in line with the overall objectives of the programme, specifically the transition to a ITIL / SIAM services model.


  • Understanding of Value Based Management or similar modelling method.
  • Experience with use of Cost modelling tools to support business process analysis
  • Experience of defining and effecting data capture to support data driven modelling
  • Demonstrable experience of apply Value Based Management or similar approach to identifying cost drivers and potential solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience of defining and using  data driven modelling
  • Use of Witness Modelling Tool
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work in ambiguity
  • Ability to work with individuals and teams
