Our client due to expansion have a position in their team for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. This role would suit a candidate who is now looking to progress to their 2nd role in IT and will be supporting enterprise IT Infrastructure offsite and / or office based as required. Reporting to the Project Manager the IT Engineer / IT Infrastructure Engineer will be involved in supporting a wide variety of enterprise IT systems within their capability covering Systems Implementation, Configuration, support and administration. Systems support will primarily MS Windows operating systems with some Linux/Unix based, VMWare, Hyper-V, additionally supporting various storage and backup venders e.g. Net backup, SAN, Tivoli although training will be provided on key products utilised. Essential: Have experience or have the interpersonal skills to interact with clients in an IT engineering support role in either Technical Consultancy/IT system implantation, Window OS/Windows Server 2003-2013, Sys Admin of user accounts, Patch Fix and system enhancements. Desirable skills / experience: LINUX/UNIX based such as Redhat, Visualisation skills including VMWare ESXI, vSphere, Hyper-V, general storage skills, Active Directory, Exchange 2010, SQL Server, ITIL (Release, Build, Config), Project documentation and Reporting e.g. Admin guide, User guide, Technical docs (Issue fault resolution) This role is commutable from Reading and surrounding areas which will include visits to London as part of the role.
