Asset and Configuration Manager
Our customer uses asset and network discovery tools to capture detailed as-is snapshots of the Enterprise. These tools are exploited to create a relational model which is exploited by the ‘Service Asset and Configuration Management’ (SACM) team.
The SACM team require support in shaping the CMDB to ensure only the required ‘Configuration Items’ are retained to support the demands of the business.
The successful candidate will have a background in Asset and Configuration Management with a strong understanding of Configuration Items and how supporting tooling can be exploited to enhance the relationship models within the CMDB. The candidate will be required to define strategies and technical roadmaps for improving the relational models used to support Configuration Management in the assessment of ‘Actual v Authorised’ assets.
The candidate will be able to baseline the existing CMDB and provide clear direction to the customer on enhancing the existing data structures, employing a strong influence through familiarity of Industry best practices and previous experience. The candidate must be able to communicate clearly at senior management level, as well as a technical level to clearly define approaches for developing the CMDB.
An understanding of the Atrium CMDB, or similar tools is essential for this role.
o Defining and implementing Configuration Management processes and procedures
o Implement and manage Continuous Service Improvement Plan (CSIP)
o Managing engagement with stakeholders and liaise with other areas that may be dealing with CM related functions (Asset, License Management)
o Identifying Configuration Items
o Implementing Configuration Management to industry "Best Practice" standards (ITIL, CMMI, Prince2)
o Reporting of the current status of all CIs within the business
o Providing Management and Customer reporting against agreed Key Performance Indicators
o Regular audits to ensure that an agreed amount of control is being exercised
o Enforcing Configuration Management process across the programme
o Planning & conducting Configuration Management presentations, workshops and training courses where appropriate
o Providing impact analysis for Release Scheduling and other Service Management teams
o Creating and administering Service and Operational Level Agreements
o Overseeing the creation of a single Definitive Software Library to encompass all software utilised by the business

Qualifications & Experience
o Experienced Configuration Professional with a proven track record in the delivery of effective, consistent and repeatable Configuration Management in a multi-disciplined environment
o Formal training and qualifications in Configuration Management
o ITIL Foundation
o Ability to analyse and critique reports and data in a logical and business focussed manner
o Ability to understand and interpret contract requirements and limitations
o Able to understand system relationships, dependencies and network topology
