A charity who support disabled people in the UK, are looking for a proactive and interpersonal Information Security and Risk Manager to join the firm.

What will you be doing?

As Information Security and Risk Manager, you will be the primary champion of IT security, information governance (IG) and risk management at an operational level. Whilst building a risk aware culture you will act as data protection officer for the organisation, you will provide the point of contact and advice on all IG matters. The Information Security and Risk Manager will be expected to carry out audits and risk assessments in directorates or departments for compliance against NHS IG toolkit or other IG requirements.

You will protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all the physical and electronic information assets throughout the organisation. Your previous experience in a similar role will provide guidance and assurance to senior management on the effectiveness and compliance of controls and risk management processes in order to meet current legislation or contractual requirements.

Do you have the ability and desire to develop policies, procedures and controls with regard to IT security, information governance and risk? If so then this role could be of interest to you.

Who should you be/what skills should you have?

  • A professional qualification in security, information governance and risk management e.g. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Experience in risk management or auditing
  • Ability to conduct and manage investigations into legal or regulatory issues
  • Expert knowledge of data protection law and practices
  • Knowledge of best practice in IG and data protection
  • Experience at a senior level, introducing operational process change effectively
