SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER REQUIRED - LONDON - MPS Background is a MUST for the role.

THE ROLE

Capita document & information services (CDIS) offers a range of integrated services that can enable organisations to dramatically improve how a huge stream of information is input, handled, archived, and then output and communicated by the business. Focusing on the end to end process of managing documents including Outsourced Print, Hybrid mail, Scanning and Archiving and Managed Print. This role sits within the Managed Print division of CDIS.

Managed Print Solutions (MPS) operate nationally across the UK working with blue chip and public sector and SME clients to develop innovative solutions for their document print strategy requirements. A major partner with leading technology developers in the print production sector, Capita MPS occupies a unique position in the market being part of the largest BPO organisation in the UK. The only company that presently can demonstrate the ability to deliver in house and end to end total document solution to any size of organisation.

The ideal candidate will have excellent prioritisation skills and will have responsibility for the successful delivery of high profile internal and external (public and private sector) projects, as well as direct line management for a remote team of 7, 2 x Project Managers, 1 x Project Coordinator, 3 x Customer Support Executives

To be successful within this role you will have excellent communications skills and you must be able to display a fantastic level of customer services and professionalism. The Senior Project Manager facilitates workshops, creates project documentation, presents findings on a regular basis to key stakeholders / managers and supports their team to drive projects to successful completion.

KEY ACCOUNTIBLITIES

  • Ensures that realistic project and quality plans are prepared and maintained and tracks all activities against the plan, providing regular and accurate reports to stakeholders, as appropriate

  • Monitors costs, timescales and resources used, and takes action where these deviate from agreed tolerances. Ensures that delivered systems are implemented within these criteria
  • Manages the change control procedure and ensures that project deliverables are completed within the planned cost, timescale and resource budgets

  • Provides effective leadership to the project team ensuring that team members are motivated and developing their skills and experience. Actively represents the project team, ensuring that effective relationships are built and maintained with the business.

  • Evaluates and makes recommendations and decisions on options as appropriate

  • Takes responsibility for the definition, documentation and safe execution of projects, actively participating in all phases of the project. Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project

  • Assists with RFIs, tenders, RFPs, project opportunities, constructs solutions and presents to relevant end users as directed

  • Creates, develops and publishes all relevant project documentation to all project stakeholders and team members, both internally and externally (customers)

  • Works in collaboration with, and utilises the support from other teams and divisions to deliver on expectations
  • Contributes to resolving any internal/external conflicts in a timely and professional manner

  • Advocates the use of structured project management methodology, including PRINCE2, to the sales and support divisions within the business

  • Proactively works with support functions to improve efficiency of internal processes and relationships
  • Promoting good working practices and procedures
