The successful HR Reporting Officer will provide effective services to the HR team in HR systems and production of management information in order to aid organisation design activities, HR information provision and HR service delivery.

The purpose of this role will be to support in the developing and maintain of HR system processes and supporting system functionality to ResourceLink WebView and MyView, and Cognos.

The successful HR Reporting Officer will be tasked with the following responsibilities:

1. Maintain and develop the HR & Payroll system (ResourceLink.)

2. Work with the HR reporting and systems team to agree plans for the introduction of new functionality, with the ITS technical support team to develop and release new functionality and support this with training staff on the new functionality

3. Contribute to discussions on future system strategy, evaluate existing systems/other products as necessary and make recommendations.

4. Carry out system administration activities - system maintenance, system testing, system/ data checks, fault finding and resolution and managing user access.

5. Contribute to HR Management System projects such as selecting, testing and implementing software as well as the development of the road map of such projects.

6. Provision of first line resolution for system related problems. Resolve technical problems effectively through detailed advice and guidance, communicated clearly to all users of the HR and Payroll Systems.

7. Support staff using the HR systems e.g. creating and maintaining user manuals including reference to processes and procedures and designing and delivering training.

8. The role holder will provide day to day user support for the HR systems (including MyView self-service) provide system user access and be responsible for configuration management

9. Work with the HR Systems team, Payroll & Pensions team and ITS team to analyse system requirements and scope projects for future release and integration.

10. Work with the HR systems team to evaluate potential systems or process modifications affecting the systems by:
* Providing technical impact assessment on proposed changes to data and configuration
* Contributing to process improvements that lead to improved solutions

11. Maintain and monitor the performance of the current application to ensure consistency and quality of data through:

* Reviewing data structures and system configuration
* Investigating problems to diagnose underlying causes and implementing known solutions or escalating to HR Systems Manager
* Carrying our regular data and licence audits and supporting annual tasks requiring system changes or reporting, such as pay awards, HESA returns and pension year end reports.

12. Work with the HR Systems Manager to remove duplication in faculties and support services and replace with centralized systems and reporting solutions

13. Work with the HR systems manager to develop a self-service reporting solution to support HR teams, faculties and central services

14. Represent the School at relevant HR systems user groups

15. Develop positive relationships with HR systems suppliers to keep up to speed with developments
