About the job:
Contribute to all phases of the product lifecycle from initial concept through design, development and verification as well as obsolescence management and through-life support.
Development of electronic systems for the management, protection and charging of batteries ranging in size between Wh and MWh

About you:
Experience of design and assurance of safety critical systems in a regulated sector is desirable
The role is very much design and analysis based and preference will be given to candidates with suitable design and or electrical system analysis and design assurance experience; however candidates with installation, testing and commissioning experience shall also be considered.
Chartered or working towards chartered status
Demonstrate transferable skills and an interest in a consultancy style of working.
A strong technical and project background
Electrical design experience which should include several of the following:
High voltage AC and high voltage DC Electrical power system design
Electrical protection design and analysis (IPSA, Digsilent, ETAP, Amtech, Simpower)
Rotating plant and transformers
Power electronics (VSDs, UPS, SPI, etc)
Power cabling arrangement and specification
Switchboard and switchgear specification
National Grid distribution
Understanding of Grid Code including design, connection and operations
Smart grid and demand side management
Nuclear industry standards methodologies and application
Interpretation of clients' technical needs
Technical leadership on projects
Site supervision of projects
Project management
Safety case / Design Substantiation Report authorship
Electrical Power & HV Engineers
