**Travel: Please not there may be some travel to Croydon (15%) and some other major locations such as Liverpool**

We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our key Central Government Clients in London who are looking for a Commercial Analyst to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of timely and effective information about the performance of the Commercial Directorate and the organisations commercial processes, suppliers, and the provision of spend, supplier and compliance data and intelligence. The role requires a broad approach; dealing with data and spreadsheets through to, increasingly, advanced analytics systems and automation. Providing information and intelligence within a business and commercial context is an important part of this role. It is not about manipulating numbers without serious attention to the business relevance or the credibility the information.

Key tasks and deliverables:
*To be responsible for the analysis and reporting of key elements of the performance management processes such as:
-Performance against targets
-Benefits reporting and benefits realisation
-Compliance
-Supplier performance
-Spend management
-Cost and budget management
*Develop and manage data feeds, extract information, and undertake the analysis to provide commercial intelligence to the Directorate
*Agree and evolve research techniques, focus, targets and manner of interrogation to ensure complete and effective coverage of all performance and spend information needs
*Provide reports and intelligence as required
*Manipulate and present data to best effect
*Understand target audience and information requirements from stakeholders and design specific reports
*Review data and information to identify trends, common themes, outliers and other insights so as to provide intelligence to stakeholders
*Provide summary data on the use, accuracy and timeliness of key systems and processes, and engage key stakeholders in improving the data quality
*Research and suggest improvements on the efficiency of performance management and reporting processes
*Develop self-service approaches to data and information needs
*Analyse information and provide data in an agreed format for publication either on Horizon or other agreed channels

Essential skills and experience:
*Excellent analytical, problem solving and data gathering capabilities
*Good commercial knowledge and understanding of commercial and market trend
*Action orientated and able to interact and resonate across all levels of management
*Knowledgeable about commercial data, analytics and information systems
*Strong spreadsheet, analytics and presentation software skills
*Data analytics experience
*Advisory role in systems development programmes
*P2P implementation and improvement
*Expert data management skills in EXCEL
*Knowledge of ERP data extract and systems integration issues
*Development of dashboard and reporting formats

Desirable skills and experience:
*Experience of ATAMIS system
*Experience of Oracle or similar ERP
