JOB TITLE: Deployment & Systems Admin Support Engineer
DURATION: 6 - 12 months + option to further extend the contract

Capita TRACS is currently recruiting for a talented and highly skilled Deployment & Systems Admin Support Engineer to provide support, administration and deployment activities.
Working within a cutting edge software team, the Deployment & Systems Admin Support Engineer will be defining requests, fault-finding and acting as point of contact for incidents and problem activities.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:Database administration - database health checks for key production systems - responsible for database upgrades within business unitNetwork administration - responsible for managing the configuration of the network including access control and managing fault resolution and escalation. This will involve liaising with internal and external suppliersSecurity Administration - acting as authority for creation of system and user accounts and controlling privilegesIssue Management - Acting as point of contact for incident and problem activities necessary to meet the service continuity targets, including resolution of software and hardware issues, this will include determining and invoking appropriate escalation processesRelease Management - ensuring that the release management process is created and then followed and that appropriate levels of sign off for hardware or software have been achieved. Liaising with project and programme delivery teams to ensure that upgrades are schedules in a way that is achievable and supports service continuity targetsPreventative Maintenance - co-ordinate all preventative maintenance tasks ensuring they completed to schedule and follow the appropriate releases and test processes. This will be schedules to minimise the impact on op activity and avoid conflicts.Environment management - ensuring the business area is represented and development activity has been completed prior to delivery for release. Responsible for the deployment and configuration of software and hardware to business units.Change control board - present new changes to board, responsible for approvals and communication.

The required candidates must possess the following:Proven experience and skills with Windows Systems Administration.Proven experience and skills with Linux Systems Administration.Good knowledge and experience of Release Management.Knowledge of Oracle databases would be nice to have.ITIL Service knowledge would be nice to haveExcellent problem solving skills.Customer and service delivery focused.Excellent communication skills with an ability to convey technical information to both a technical and non-technical audience.'Can do' attitude with a pro-active approach.Ability to take ownership and see a resolution through to the end.Strong team player with the ability to work independently.
