The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work on next generation digital applications as part of a high energy team which has a desire to understand the needs of the stakeholders and a drive to design great user experiences.

Reporting to the Project Manager and User Experience Lead, the User Experience Designer will lead on the design of core elements of the User Experience, building on the UX vision and strategy. You will be capable of communicating effectively with teams of Users, Developers, Business Analysts, Business Change specialists in a high energy, dynamic environment. You will be able to identify and capture user needs and understand, design and articulate the User Experience needed to meet the business requirement. You must be experience in latest UX techniques, tools, technologies and processes. Sound judgement, vision, flexibility and great communication are essential along with interpersonal, influencing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Using UX techniques such as personas, user journeys and wireframes to design and communicate an innovative User Experience that builds on the organisations UX vision and strategy
  • Running requirements workshops and capturing and managing user requirements
  • Working closely with software developers in an Agile Software development environment: supporting the writing of User Stories and overseeing their delivery across one or more software sprints
  • Designing and running usability testing
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team including Users, Developers, Business Analysts, Tests and Business Change specialists

Experience:

  • Experience in Human Factors (HCI), Ergonomics (Product Design) or UX design experience in software development
  • Experience delivering great user experiences
  • Experience in User Research, capturing insights and user needs
  • Knowledge of Google Material Design Spec
  • Experience in Graphical User Interface (GUI) design
  • Experience in designing and running usability testing
  • Ability to empathise with and create good working relationships with a wide range of Users and specialists
  • Experience working in an Agile Software development environment
  • Experience of using Microsoft AXURE
