Security’s finest honoured in Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2017

The cream of the security and fire industry was recognised recently at the annual Security & Fire Excellence Awards.

Now in their 18th year, the awards praised the very best people, projects and processes in the security and fire sectors at the London Hilton on Park Lane.

The event represents the biggest single networking opportunity for anyone who’s serious about the fantastic security and fire sectors and their continual improvement.

Despite the focus on fire safety, many of the 30 categories centre around security and the prevention of global threats.

Gatwick Airport’s Behavioural Detection Team was named counter-terrorism innovation of the year, while Nedap Security Management with AEOS end-to-end security claimed the title of cyber security innovation of the year.

Security guarding company of the year went to ICTS UK & Ireland (over £50 million turnover) and Pilgrims Group (under £50 million turnover).

CornerStone GRG was hailed as the year’s best security consultancy, while Securitas’ partnership with University of Hertfordshire was named combined security & fire solution of the year, and the title of event security team of the year went to Croma Vigilant Edinburgh International Conference Centre Security Team.

Finally, Muhammad Fahim of Eurostar by Mitie Total Security Management was named security manager of the year and CIS Security Academy Development Journey was hailed as the year’s finest security training initiative.
