Securitas acquires MK Group Security to strengthen mobile security services for SMEs

Published on: 25 Sep 2018

Securitas has bought out MK Group Security, which owns Milton Keynes Security Services, for an undisclosed fee.

MK Group Security will continue to operate under its current name to deliver local, professional security services to clients until the end of 2018, when it will transition to operate under the Securitas brand.

Founded in 1992, MK Group Security employs more than 90 people and supplies security services in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas, specialising in both static and mobile security services with a strong focus on the SME market.

Peter Watson, managing director of MK Group Security, said the acquisition marked “a fantastic opportunity for MK Group Security, for our officers and for our clients”.

He added: “Securitas is a leading global player in the security industry and there are huge opportunities for development and growth.”

Securitas is the leading global security services provider, specialising in protective services in 58 markets worldwide.

In the UK, it provides six security provider layers: on-site, mobile, remote, electronic security, fire & safety and corporate risk management. The firm says this offers intelligent, value-driven, total security solutions to its clients.

The acquisition of Milton Keynes Security Services further strengthens Securitas UK’s portfolio, as it continues to build its electronic alarm surveillance services and mobile security services for small and medium-sized businesses across the UK.
