About the role
To create and support the development of Purchasing/Category/Supplier strategies within IT that will provide a structured approach to managing spend that will identify savings opportunities whilst supporting the current and future needs of the business.

This will involve working closely with the key stakeholders within the IT department to determine business requirements, determining appropriate commercial strategies that will deliver cost efficiencies and then identifying and developing suppliers to support the business and its customers.

Take responsibility for locking in savings and benefits through ongoing contract and supplier management activities.

What do I need to do the role?
This IT Sourcing Manager will be a strong contract negotiator with a good appreciation of commercial law and will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in developing and executing success procurement strategies so experience in sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship is a must.

This IT Sourcing Manager will be an excellent communicator with previous experience in a procurement environment, preferably within the IT category area and with knowledge of a range of IT related categories, including software, hardware and services, and will competent in carrying out all aspects of Purchasing lifecycle within a defined delegation level including:

  • Development of sourcing strategies
  • Supplier selection and prequalification
  • Drafting tender documentation and tendering contracts
  • Placing contracts / Reviewing contracts
  • Supplier feedback / development activities

What else do I need to know?
CIPS Qualified or working towards
MOD SC Security clearance will be required
Other security clearances as contracts demand
E.g. Met Police Security clearance
