AWE is currently recruiting a Security Manager to work within the Company on a permanent basis.

Line managed by the Head of Security Strategy, the Security Manager will work within the delivery team for a large high-security capital project, ensuring that all security matters are planned and managed appropriately as the facility transitions from being a project to an operational facility.

The AWE Security Department is always seeking to recruit high-calibre personnel from across the organisations and agencies which have a defence, security or intelligence remit. Working in a complex and dynamic high-security environment, employees can expect to be involved in planning, delivering and assuring security for a broad range of assets, and to benefit from considerable personal and career development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have experience of managing security within the Armed Forces, Police or other security / intelligence agency, and will be looking to grow their security management experience further with a view to becoming a potential Head of Security in the future. The successful candidate does not need to be expert in technical security systems but must have the ability to learn and understand how they are employed alongside security forces as part of a layered approach to security.

Package - £50-60k subject to skills and experience

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure the delivery of all security-related training necessary to enable armed and unarmed security forces and staff to operate effectively in the facility.
  • Manage and influence stakeholders to ensure that new security capabilities and processes are appropriately integrated and optimised as they become operational.
  • Ensure the satisfactory performance of security systems, infrastructure and equipment once installed to enable security to be maintained to the required standards.
  • Coordinate the planning and conduct of security force operations.

Skills and Experience

  • You will be able to analyse security threats and identify appropriate ways to mitigate them.
  • You will be able to develop, communicate and oversee the implementation of security plans to ensure the protection of high-value assets.
  • You will be an inspiring leader, able to drive effective collaboration across a diverse stakeholder community.

The ideal applicant must be willing and able to obtain and maintain DV clearance.
