Job Details

This role is responsible for establishing a credible and deliverable RPAS Sensor Operator Training System Design that meets the customer requirements and for the instructional design and development effort required to produce the UKMFTS RPAS Sensor Operator curriculum.
 
The successful candidate will be:
  • An experienced ex-military WSO/WSOp with extensive RPAS instructional experience, who seeks the opportunity to participate in shaping the future of RPAS training for military aircrew.
  • Capable of integrating relevant techniques and procedures into a modern flying training system.
  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of working to the highest standards and achieving tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Uphold partnering behaviours and participate in events as required, Resulting in successful partnering relationships internally within Ascent and externally across UKMFTS
  • Uphold adherence to the Health, Safety & Environmental Polices and Air Safety responsibilities
  • Ensure that innovation and continuous improvement is embedded in the production of media by Working  with the team in the planning, design, development and testing of new technologies for the delivery of learning materials.
  • Maintain courseware design to the required standard, so that it remains appropriate and adheres to the DSAT process, ready for delivery to the customer.
  • Achieve courseware development, production and delivery milestones as identified in the RPAS Training System Implementation Plan
  • Assist implementation and Certification to CICD & Certification standards
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
  • Extensive military flying experience with RPAS.
  • Relevant instructional responsibility with RPAS.
  • In depth knowledge of RPA systems, performance and capabilities.
  • First hand experience of delivery of multimedia classroom instruction.
  • Articulate and able to translate aviation-specific and/or complex concepts into appropriate levels for integration into courseware products.
  • Strong oral and written communicator.
  • Ability to build solid internal and external relationships.
 
Desirable:
  • Experience of operating Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) RPAS aircraft.
  • SC cleared.
  • CFS B1 or A2 qualification (not necessarily current).
  • Broad knowledge of capabilities and application of synthetic training devices.
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification/experience.
  • Understanding of the DSAT (JSP 822) process.
