Systems Architect - Maritime - Hampshire £45,000 - £63,000 + benefits


Defence - Locations: Hampshire with occasional travel to Bristol
Permanent position - dependant on experience £45,000 - £63,000 + benefits


A world leading defence, security and technology service provider who have invested billions of pounds in their services working with the most high profile clients on the most cutting edge projects are looking for a number of systems architects / enterprise architects to join their systems engineering centre of excellence due to company expansion and work on a number of prestigious and complex maritime projects.

The Job


Focusing on both business as usual and critical projects the Systems Architect is required to deliver a range of complex technical and business challenges and provide solutions accordingly on critical warship programmes.

Key Accountabilities:

Defining and developing systems architectures in response to customer requirements to address specific purposes
* Devising architectures to capture problems and/or solutions together with the relationships between the problem being addressed and the outline of the solution addressing it.
* Partitioning between discipline technologies and deriving discipline-specific requirements.
* Documenting architectures in a manner which promotes understanding by the stakeholders, analysis and communication.
* Applying systems architectures in dependent activities (other architectures, designs, implementations etc.) and making sure that derived products conform with the architecture.
* Assessing a range of architectural solutions and justifying the selection of a good solution.


Successful outcomes of this role:

  • Delivering systems architectures that meet the customer/stakeholders' requirements.
  • Improving the practices and standards of systems architecting and mentoring others with an aptitude to become Systems Architects.
  • Codification and cross-fertilisation of architecting best practices.
  • Driving commonality and coherence, where appropriate, across the Systems Architecting community.




Education
Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering or technical discipline, or proven experience working in an equivalent engineering role.
