Job Details
We are looking for a Firearms Enabling Officer to manage a team of officers engaged in providing enabling support to the NCA Armed Operations Policy, Compliance, Assurance and Threat to Life. The post holder will be responsible for the development of policies and operating procedures to ensure that appropriate standards are maintained and to provide advice on legislation, policy and tactical options to assist in the planning and implementation of investigations and operations.
The successful candidate will possess a good understanding of criminal law and UK Legislation related to firearms and Threat to Life operations and demonstrable experience of management of risk in an operational environment. The post holder will also possess a good understanding of Authorised Professional Practice Armed Policing and the Code of Practice on Police use of Firearms.

Experience Criteria
You will be required to supply evidence of:
- A good understanding of criminal law and UK legislation related to firearms and Threat to Life Operations
- Experience of management of risk in an operational environment
- Good understanding of Authorised Professional Practice Armed Policing and the Code of Practice on the Police use of Firearms
Licences
Candidates are required to hold the following licence:
Full UK Driving Licence
Qualifications
• PIP2 accredited or a recognised qualification/ accreditation to investigate crime issued by a government body.
