About the role
Here at Babcock we are looking to recruit a Engineering Logistics Portal Part M Engineer (Mechanical) to be responsible for the efficient and effective management of the ELP Pt M Eng Teams and for the co-ordination of the overall ELP activities on Hawk Assets. This includes Fwd Platforms, On & Off Depth Aircraft Scheduled Maintenance. Ensuring that the activities undertaken by ELP achieve enhanced aircraft asset availability to maximize and enable aircraft serviceability to meet the required KPI's. This position is primarily responsible for the correct allocation of assets to meet Hawk inventory minimum balance and maintenance demamds, the direction of the supporting bays ensuring priority assets are worked in accordance with RDD and minimum balance requirements. This role is a key enabler if the newly implemented IT system IMS into a credible maintenance solution thus giving Hawk aircraft a vast advantage to provide effective control of Aircraft components and its costs.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to hold:
  • Aircraft engineering background with knowledge of military aircraft paperwork e.g. F700/731.
  • Understanding of Military and Industry supply chain processes and procedures
  • Understanding of aircraft configuaration System of record
  • Understanding of Maintenance operations in a Forward aircraft Squadron, Depth Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the relevant data sheets and processes relevant to the user's area of expertise.
  • Relevant experience in Fault diagnosis techniques and Technical Support
  • Relevant Trade Q annotation or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Supervisors in Aviation
  • Training in an Aircraft related discipline to City and Guilds 2675 Level 3 or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Senior Supervisory position within a related engineering environment.
  • Hawk T2 Systems Course

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
  • Verification of scheduled maintenance and unscheduled repair
  • Confirm assets are on the respective Component Maintenance Facilities Capability List (C-List).
  • Examine the Asset's Technical Records in Maintenix (& Sapphire during transitional period) to determine:
  • Fault / Failure and other reasons for removal
  • Lifing or near lifing issues associated with the Asset
  • Applicability of any National Instructions (NI's) or any Engineering Instructions (EI's)
  • Raise faults accordingly and against the Asset within Mtx
  • Assess the Summary of Component Repair Plans in Trilogi View (tV) to determine the required Scheduled Maintenance and allowable Unscheduled Repair tasks in line with the Hawk MPOL.
  • Provide the Part 145 component maintenance and or repair tasking for the appropriate ML2 Component Maintenance Facility by creating and assigning the necessary Work Packages (WP's) in Maintenix
  • Ensure that all Part M tasking aligns to Approved Data including any relevant datasets, procedures, EI's and Technical Querys (TQ's)
  • When the Part M Engineering fails to identify approved data or highlights an error or omission, co-ordinate with the relevant Technical Support team(s) to either challenge the content, obtain clarification or provide new data to address any gaps via the TQ process and carry out any follow up Technical Publication Request (TPRF) action or Policy documentation
  • Ensure tasked WP's are fully completed by the Part 145 Component Maintenance Facility and complete necessary data transfer / system updates
  • Carry out "boaundary cell activities for all incoming / outgoing assets maintaining and updating applicable records within Maintenix
  • Support the Issue Resolution Process and ensure any deviations (additions/changes/deletions/deferrals) from the tasked WP are appropriately authorised and documented in Maintenix
  • Verify Asset Conditioning recommendations including Condenmed ,ML4 and Beyond Repair (Scrap).
  • Consider MPOL is topical, appropriate to Hawk Strategy and generate change request if applicable
  • Contribute to developing and delivering financial cost savings through optimisation of maintenance costs
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly reports are compiled for both Peers and Cross Functional Peers from the ELP process which will be reviewed by team, business and Senior Execs.

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
