We are seeking a pro-active, commercially aware Project Support professional. The ideal candidate for this key role will have provided project support functions to NATO, the MoD, civil service or wider armed forces. Comfortable in the use of project planning and scheduling processes and tools you will be known for your analytical ability and communication skills.

 

 

 

The role

 

Role responsibilities:

 

Maintain and monitor project schedules using MS Project or Enterprise Project Manager (EPM) Monitor, track and report project labour hour expenditures Support preparation of project support cost estimates, tracking actuals against budgets Assist project managers in compiling information for project reviews and reports Organise internal project management meetings, and assist in preparing for major meetings with external stakeholders Participate in management meetings, capturing minutes and monitoring resulting actions Assist in identifying risks, and maintaining and updating project risk management tools Identify and track project issues and resolution; Assist in planning and conducting procurements; monitor status of deliverables and suppler reporting activities; Perform other related duties as requested.

The opportunity

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Support professional to work within a critical, results-oriented role within a global defence organisation. The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of project execution, collating and analysing information to provide reports that will be used to make key business decisions. The location of this role will be in The Hague (Netherlands) working directly for MCR, so would suit those already situated there or willing to relocate.

 

 

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Extensive experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO) or Project Support Office (PSO); Expertise in project financial status monitoring and reporting, risk management, and procurement; PMO training and/or certifications, combined with additional related work experience; Proficient in using tools such as Microsoft Project and EPM; SharePoint, and MS Office tools (particularly Excel and PowerPoint); Must be fluent in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking); Ability to obtain NATO Security Clearance; Citizen of one of the 29 NATO member nations; Must meet eligibility requirements to work and reside in The Netherlands;  

 

 Non-essential Requirements

 

A university degree in a related field Expert-level knowledge and proficiency with Project, EPM or SharePoint is highly desired; Demonstrated experience working with PRINCE2 or ITIL methodologies is highly desired; Knowledge of Air Command and Control systems Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organisation, including Allied Command Operations (ACO) and Allied Command Transformation (ACT)
