EXCLUSIVE OPPORTUNITY: Sopra Steria is currently recruiting for a Service Manager with in a Test Environment to join a large project team working for a key Private sector client on a 6 month contract.

Responsible for the day to day management of the non-production CEMS service, focused on the three areas of environment provision, change release management (within the non-prod environments) and general support and maintenance.

A robust understanding of development and testing lifecycles, to maintain an effective 'environment route to live' approach and to promote CEMS improvements, is key. An ability to understand a broad technology base, to enable and facilitate non-prod environment support and maintenance is also important to the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the onsite CEMS resources and liaison with offshore resources, including onsite resource rotation management;
  • Monthly forecast review and update to ensure the service remains aligned with the agreed cost model;
  • Monthly service reporting at the operational level (contributing to a wider CEMS report);
  • Stakeholder engagement and management at the operational level, within both Sopra Steria and N Brown;
  • Liaison with N Brown third parties at an operational level to progress service requests and defect resolution; this will include liaising with both offshore and UK based resources, as well as facilitating various conference calls;
  • Identification of and contribution to, continuous improvements, to enhance the effectiveness of the service and the client experience;
  • Supporting an overall CEMS governance process;
  • Raising and management of operational escalations within Sopra Steria and within the client, as appropriate.

Environment Provision:

  • Booking/allocation process for existing environments - liaising with client environment/release managers - including resolution of any request contention;
  • Data refresh processes and related activities, liaising with relevant teams and stakeholders, as appropriate;
  • The provision of any necessary documentation to support environment provision and knowledge transfer;
  • Liaison with relevant teams in relation to the provision of wholly new environments (new environment

Essential Skills:

  • Contribute to the definition and execution of the non-prod environment release schedule, in conjunction with N Brown environment/release managers;
  • Co-ordinate deployment changes/releases to the non-prod environments, in conjunction with the N Brown environment/release managers - ensuring all required approvals are secured;
  • Ensure effective release and version tracking for all non-prod environments;
  • Liaise with the Sopra Steria 'patch manager' to agree an acceptable schedule.

Support and Maintenance:

  • Non-prod environment related defect management and resolution, defining and executing relevant action plans;
  • Request management (ensuring requests/issues are raised within the required systems e.g JIRA/Service Now), are allocated to relevant teams and actioned);
  • Daily operational reporting (e.g. requests, defects, environment availability);
  • Environment availability; investigating and resolving any issues that impact availability;
  • Provision of knowledge and skills to support N Brown's environment decision making and utilisation.
