HR Advisor - People Operations Team Leader
Location: Derry/Londonderry

In preparation for Derry becoming the new HR Hub for Fujitsu's Ireland and UK operations we are currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor to lead the new People Operations team.
The People Operations Team is a new team required to manage 2nd line challenging and complex people queries from managers and assist HRBPs on a range of generalist HR topics. This team is wholly business aligned forging excellent relationships with HRBPs across all business units and offering the support and direction needed to provide a first class service.

The Role

The HR People Operations Team Leader will lead and manage a team of 5 HR Advisors based at Fujitsu's HR Service Centre in Derry. The team is responsible for managing the delivery of generalist HR support to the wider business on challenging and complex people issues and projects.

The Team Leader will be responsible for handling complex escalations from their direct reports, senior HR colleagues and business partners, as well as senior stakeholders in the business.
The Team Leader will ensure consistent and professional advice is delivered by the team while maintaining and exceeding service levels.
Continuous improvement is crucial in this area given the ever-changing and dynamic role HR play within Fujitsu.

This role would suit a well-rounded generalist HR professional with people management experience. This Leader will be expected to resolve complex HR issues where the rest of the team are unable to reach resolution, as well as guide other HR colleagues in best practice HR.

The scope of the role is as follows:

• To manage partners, stakeholders, direct reports and colleagues to achieve the delivery of services and projects to SLA, milestone, cost and quality.
• To lead continuous improvement and the standardisation of processes and working methods within the team.
• To manage a team of 5 experienced Advisors, provide them with training and guidance on new topics, employment law developments and organisational changes.
• To manage escalations and resolve complex people queries on a range of generalist HR topics where the team have exhausted all other options.
• Monitor team workload and delegate projects and critical work to the team, whilst ensuring a high level of service delivery is maintained amongst everyone.
• Monitor and maintain strong team performance, keep regularly up to date with the rest of the HR Management Team and keep SLAs on track.

Deliverables will include:

• Effectively managing escalation and ensuring the team are effectively resolving complex people queries from managers, other HR colleagues and employees through to closure.
• Leading a business aligned team to successfully deliver specified activities and provide ad-hoc support to the HR Business Partners, ensuring they are aligned and supporting the goals of the business area aligned to.
• Motivate and coach the team on delivering a holistic approach to advising the business on challenges and addressing any feedback on performance when required.

• Self-starter with ability to advise, manage and develop others drawing on their own HR knowledgebase
• Strong organisational skills to balance a multitude of escalations and stakeholders whilst also managing a team.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity in a challenging and dynamic environment
• Ability to make difficult decisions or put forward credible recommendations following thorough investigation and assessment of all of options.

Skills, knowledge and experience

• Previous experience in managing people would be advantageous.
• CIPD qualified or working towards it.
• Awareness of the wider business environment outside of HR
• Strong working knowledge of employment legislation.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies and processes and the ability to clearly articulate company policy
• Effectively communicate verbally and have strong written communication skills.
