Shortlists revealed for UK OSPAs; winners revealed February 28

Published on: 18 Dec 2018

Securitas has been shortlisted for an award that praises industry-leading security.

Now in their third year, the UK OSPAs (Outstanding Security Performance Awards) recognise companies, initiatives, teams and individuals in the security industry. The awards reward exceptional performance in 16 different categories.

And it’s Securitas’ dedicated security team at the University of Bedfordshire that is in the running for ‘outstanding security team’ - a prize that was won by Adidas’ profit protection team last time round.

Other companies in the outstanding security team category include Amazon, CIS Security, Cordant Security, ISS, CriticalArc, ICTS UK & Ireland, OCS and VSG’s One Piccadilly Gardens security team.

Meanwhile, the outstanding contract security category includes Axis Security, CIS Security, Croma Vigilant, FGH Security, ICTS UK & Ireland, Kingdom Services Group, Sodexo, SecuriGroup and Ultimate.

Last year’s UK OSPAs saw the lifetime achievement award go to Don Randall, who served with the City of London Police between 1969 and 1995, with specific emphasis on counter terrorism. He was awarded an MBE for services to law enforcement in 2007.

OSPAs founder professor Martin Gill commented: “The standard of entries this year has again been really high, making the judging process as difficult as ever.

“Those that have been selected were marked independently by the judging panel and all reached a score threshold – ensuring they represent the very best in the industry.”

The full list of winners will be announced at an awards dinner at the Royal Lancaster London on February 28th, 2019.
